Five practical lenses

Read the whole counter.

The patty is only one part of the result. Surface contact, stack geometry, fry steam, shake melt and the final handoff each deserve their own question.

Observation over mythology

Good burger language predicts the bite.

“Premium” and “loaded” reveal very little. Patty thickness, sear, cheese position, bun type, topping moisture and route time reveal much more. Our field guides use those visible, repeatable cues rather than pretending every diner wants the same result.

A smash burger is not automatically superior to a thick burger. Crinkle fries are not automatically crisper than shoestring fries. A shake is not better because it is taller. Each format has a job; quality begins when the process serves that job.
